Police tell drivers to steer clear of Dimond collision involving produce truck and spilled oil

An accident involving a produce truck that spilled engine oil is prompting police to ask drivers to stay away from the area of Dimond Boulevard and King Street.

The collision between the truck and a green Dodge 2500 truck was reported around 7:15 a.m. Friday, Anchorage police spokesman MJ Thim said. No one was injured.

As a result of the collision, "large amounts of oil" from the truck are leaking onto the road, a police dispatch Friday morning said. The oil is mixing with rain to make for slick conditions.

The oil is engine oil, not part of the truck's cargo, Thim said. There aren't any road closures, but police are asking drivers to find other routes, he said.
