Three people already in custody were charged with murder and kidnapping Thursday in the death of a man found in his Midtown apartment in January, Anchorage police said.

Leone Leone Jr., 22, Kenneth Ketah Jr., 38, and Iosia Fiso, 24, are accused of fatally assaulting 36-year-old Steven John, police said in a statement late Thursday. The three were already in custody on charges related to a Jan. 9 shooting on the 2900 block of Arctic Boulevard.

Police said John had been dead for several days when officers found him inside his apartment on the 600 block of West 34th Avenue on Jan. 29.

“The victim was physically assaulted before his death and left in the apartment,” police said.
